Chris Brown Charge REDUCED To Misdemeanor Assault

Chris Brown just got cut a big break ... the assault charge has just been reduced from a FELONY to a MISDEMEANOR ... and Chris pled not guilty.  Chris has just been released without bail. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the victim.

Chris had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge just vacated that order.  It's standard in such cases to order a drug test, but that has been cancelled.

The bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

US Senator Ted Cruz apologizes for offensive remark about Nigerians

On Monday Oct. 21st, US Republican Senator Ted Cruz told a rally that Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website, a comment that a lot of Nigerians found offensive. After being bombarded with several phone calls from Nigerians in Houston and all across the US, the office of Ted Cruz has issued a statement from the Senator apologizing for what he said.

The full statement reads:

It’s unfortunate that we’re living in a time where just about every joke can be misconstrued to cause offense to someone.
To the good people of Nigeria - a beautiful nation where my wife lived briefly as the child of missionaries - no offense was intended.
I am fully appreciative of the range of mutual economic and security interests that make Nigeria an important friend to the United States.
And even to those few unscrupulous email scammers who were the subject of the joke, I apologize to you for the unfair comparison to the utterly dysfunctional Obamacare website.

Market Women Threaten Showdown With Lecturers

Thousands of market women have protested in the nation’s capital against the lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and threatened a showdown with lecturers. The angry women trooped to the federal secretariat, warning ASUU against blackmailing the government over a strike they described as suicidal to the education system.
Carrying placards with various inscriptions, the women and students took to the streets in open defiance to the rules of traffic. They say the union has been faceless in its negotiations despite the government’s 130billion naira intervention.
They insist they cannot fold their arms and watch their children continue to stay out of school for over three months in the guise of a strike they are beginning to see as irrational.
Protesting is not the only action they will take, the women gave the striking lecturers until the end of the month to resolve the crisis or face a showdown.
The women again gathered together at the ministry of education demanding audience from the Education minister.
As Nigerians await the two week ultimatum by the women, meetings to resolve the growing faceoff continue.
