Catholic Priest Apprehended Leading Gang of Robbers, Kidnappers in Enugu

A Catholic priest is said to have led some notorious gang of robbers and kidnappers in carrying out their misdeeds. The gang reportedly sealed off all entrances and exits of their place of assignment: Imeohia Mmaku village in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The priest, Rev. Fr. James Ani, in company of about eight other people laid siege on the community.
Unfortunately for them, they were accosted by a team of anti-robbery police which was on routine checks of remote parts of the state.
It is alleged that Fr. Ani commanded his gang of eight to launch an offensive against the police team, an occurrence that shook the village sending the villagers scuttling for safety.
The priest’s ‘troops’ were however overpowered by the security forces and consequently detained.
