Governor Muazu Aliyu of Niger State has attributed the security challenges across the northern part of the country to youth unemployment.
Governor Aliyu said this at a training for 300 youths in modern livestock and fish farming in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The training brought together youths from 25 local government areas of the state.
Governor Aliyu said that the rising level of unemployment in the
North has made the youths in the region to be tools for mischief makers.
The Commissioner for Livestock and Fisheries Development, Mr. Isah
Vatsa noted that the training which is aimed at empowering the youths
across the state is part of the state government’s youth empowerment
programme.
He appealed to the youths to make effective use of the opportunity to
empower themselves and use their skills to contribute to the
development of the agricultural sector of the country.
